Anxiety and Depression

One of the biggest symptoms  that our clients suffer from is anxiety and depression.  There are more than enough reasons these days for this disorder with the economy in the tank, relationships put under stress, natural disasters as well as man made ones, the world in chaos . My great grandmother always said when poverty enters the door love flies out the window and I find this to be true.

There have been break ups of businesses,  marriages and friendships due to financial stress. I see it first hand everyday, and i’m sure you have too. This directly effects our emotional and physical health. Many have lost homes they have had for years and personal belongings as well as jobs and careers only to hunt for jobs that they are overly qualified for which takes a toll on ones self esteem. This can cause anger, panic attacks, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and resentment over lack of control over the situation and we find the need to place the blame. But in this day and age we are all struggling to stay afloat so we are all in the same boat.

With stress comes illness and is a key trigger for the onset of many kinds of cancer.We’ve seen more cancer this year in our clinic then in the previous years. We lost our dear Ron Gentili this year to pancreatic cancer.

Death of a loved one- parent, friend, child, close relative, spouse or even a beloved pet can shake up ones emotional life in most cases permanently.

Anxiety at its onset should be treated as soon as possible to avoid severe depression some common symptoms are

Palpitations
Insomnia                                                                                                                          Sweating
Trembling or Shaking
Difficulty Breathing
Difficulty Swallowing
Chest Pains/Discomfort
Abdominal/Stomach
Nausea/Vomiting
Dizziness/Faintness
Hot or Cold Flashes
Fears of Dying or Going Crazy

If these symptoms go unchecked then anxiety can go into depression. Don’t feel ashamed to ask for help. Anxiety and depression may be very debilitating and cause you to feel helpless. So ask for help.     everything you described in the depression area i have been feeling and i have tried eplaining to my partner and instead I get yelled at or put down for being crazy, or what’s wrong with you are you stupid etc. so i hold it all in pretending that everything is alright when in reality it’s not and i don’t no who to confide in anymore because i tried expressing my concerns with my family and instead they say you have always been the strong one…News flash i am not anymore…HELP

    Friends and family are unable to help when anxiety goes into deep depression and the worst thing to say to a depressed person is there nothing wrong with you or to snap out of it. Especially if you were the strong one and carried everyone Else’s load and stopped carrying your own. Pause and think what got you there. Say no to things that others should handle and ask yourself what do I need and what do I want.

    Part of depression has to do with the struggling to pay bills these days. It would be awesome to partake in all those therapies but who can afford it.

    Some insurances will cover acupuncture, chiropractics, ND’s and osteopaths, who can provide these services. Also, don’t be afraid to read some of the classic literature on old school therapies that you can do at home, like sweat baths, nutritional therapies, prayer, stretching, simple herbalism. The base off all natural medicine is its simplicity. Read, research and practice. “Herbally your’s” by penny royal is a good place to start.

    Communicate to your family your need for help, set aside “me” time to recharge your energy and emotional reserves, take hot baths daily, use a good daily vitamin, and set aside 30 mins for light to moderate physical exercise. You should feel at least moderately better in a few weeks. Find someone to talk to… a spiritual leader or close friend.
